Future Research

Thank you so much for your interest in the research for pediatric non-fatal drowning that will benefit Conrad and other near drowning victims.

Future Research on Pediatric Non-Fatal Drowning will include:

Applying imaging techniques to many other conditions impairing consciousness.
Identifying mechanisms for efficient, consistent, and universal 2-way communication for PNFD patients and other individuals with cognitive impairment that severely limits their ability to speak and move (e.g. ALS).
Investigating interventions to the damaged area of PNFD patients (e.g. deep brain stimulation).
Investigating interventions immediately following the accident to stop/slow the damage to the motor function.
